Suzuki Alto asking prices in Sri Lanka: what sellers ask, year by year
2026-10-14 · asking prices, not sale prices
The Alto is the default first car in Sri Lanka, and it is also the market where a small change in year moves the price a lot. This guide looks at what sellers are actually asking, model year by model year. These are asking prices, not sale prices: the number you call about, not the number you pay.
numbers came from listings on riyasewana.com and ikman.lk between 10 and 14 October 2026, the basis is 1,710 Alto listings, of which 1,310 carried a price. The overall median asking price sits at about LKR 3.9 million.

| 2011 | 127 | LKR 3.3M |
| 2014 | 60 | LKR 3.75M |
| 2015 | 525 | LKR 3.98M |
| 2016 | 102 | LKR 4.24M |
| 2017 | 36 | LKR 5.28M |
| 2018 | 25 | LKR 5.39M |
| 2023 | 21 | LKR 6.5M |
| 2024 | 70 | LKR 6.67M |
| 2025 | 28 | LKR 6.8M |
Only years with at least five advertised listings are shown. The 2015 row alone holds 525 advertised cars, which makes it the centre of gravity of the used Alto market: the model everyone shops for, and the price everyone compares against.
Three things the ladder shows
First, the pre-2011 cars cluster under LKR 3.2 million and are bought as budget transport. Second, the 2015 to 2016 tranche is the sweet spot: a genuine LKR 4 to 4.2 million band with the deepest supply, so both selection and negotiating room are good. Third, anything 2017 and later jumps into the LKR 5.3 to 6.8 million range, and the 2023 to 2025 cars barely move apart from each other.
The missing years matter too. Almost nothing 2020 to 2022 shows up in the sample, which reflects the Sri Lankan vehicle import restrictions of that period rather than a market that refuses those years. The gap only makes the 2023 and later step-up sharper.
What moves one Alto apart from another
Within a year, the spread is wide: mileage, grade, service history, repaint history, and whether the seller marks the price as negotiable. Use the ladder as a starting point for a specific car, then price the condition on top. Our live Alto page keeps the weekly medians and the full price-by-year table up to date as collection continues.
